چکیده
An ensemble modelling approach was performed to predict the distributions of seven sympatric sclerophyllous oak species in Hengduan Mountains Southwest China. Spatial eigenvector filters revealed missing factors addition commonly used environmental variables, thus effectively improved predictive accuracy for montane species. This study identified a richness center oaks, which provides reference proper conservation and utilization resources. As key important trees construction- fuel-wood, oaks (Quercus sect. Heterobalanus) China are threatened by climate change, habitat fragmentation, human activities. aims simulate potential with an emphasis on exploring relative importance climatic, non-climatic, additional spatial factors. We six ecological niche models combination The results elucidated that temperature seasonality, followed land use/cover influence index were most critical variables controlling distributions. Regardless selected algorithm, best performing combined climatic non-climatic as well filters. It is necessary strengthen at junction Sichuan Yunnan Province where we found studied oaks. Our research essential insights rational management species, suggesting constraints might reflect limited ability migration under future change.

Impact of spatial-temporal variations of climatic variables on summer maize yield in North China Plain
Summer maize (Zea mays L.) is one of the dominant crops in the North China Plain (NCP). Its growth is greatly influenced by the spatial-temporal variation of climatic variables, especially solar radiation, temperature and rainfall. The WOFOST (version 7.1) model was applied to evaluate the impact of climatic variability on summer maize yields using historical meteorological data from 1961 to 20...
متن کاملScale-dependent climatic drivers of human epidemics in ancient China.
A wide range of climate change-induced effects have been implicated in the prevalence of infectious diseases. Disentangling causes and consequences, however, remains particularly challenging at historical time scales, for which the quality and quantity of most of the available natural proxy archives and written documentary sources often decline. Here, we reconstruct the spatiotemporal occurrenc...
متن کاملSpatial variation of climatic and non-climatic controls on species distribution: the range limit of Tsuga heterophylla
Methods We compared four bioclimatic variables [actual evapotranspiration (AET), water deficit (DEF), mean temperature of the coldest month (MTCO), and growing degree-days (GDD5)] with the distribution of T. heterophylla at a 2-km grid cell resolution. The distribution is based on a zonal ecosystem classification where T. heterophylla is the dominant late-successional species. For each bioclima...
متن کاملInterpreting the Climatic Effects on Xylem Functional Traits in Two Mediterranean Oak Species: The Role of Extreme Climatic Events
In the Mediterranean region, the widely predicted rise in temperature, change in the precipitation pattern, and increase in the frequency of extreme climatic events are expected to alter the shape of ecological communities and to affect plant physiological processes that regulate ecosystem functioning. Although change in the mean values are important, there is increasing evidence that plant dis...
متن کاملPredicting species distributions: use of climatic parameters in BIOCLIM and its impact on predictions of species’ current and future distributions
Bioclimatic models are widely used tools for assessing potential responses of species to climate change. One commonly used model is BIOCLIM, which summarises up to 35 climatic parameters throughout a species’ known range, and assesses the climatic suitability of habitat under current and future climate scenarios. A criticism of BIOCLIM is that the use of all 35 parameters may lead to over-fitti...
